I started busting out Missy Elliot lyrics after reading the title of this blog. Most times I speak off the top my head and don’t really plan these out which is why I end up drifting off topic just a little. Like now.
Anyway, now here is the some food for thought. Expensive hair products… what’s in it for you? And are they really worth the price? This has been a long debated topic in Nattyville and the results always vary because we are so divided on what we are willing to pay for a product that could be replaced by something slightly cheaper and hopefully get the same results. Our budgets vary and this is the greatest factor in influencing your decision. Continue reading “Is It Worth It?”
It’s been 4 months since I posted Help! I Wanna Be A Natty Too! (Part 1), and I am sure a few of you have gone through it and probably gleaned some basic knowledge on how the natural journey begins. Most Natties struggle with the beginning phase of this rite of passage and some unfortunately get scared off because they believe it to be a lot of work. And to be honest, it actually is, but only at the beginning. For me, the most frustrating part of the journey would undoubtedly be the TWA (Teeny Weeny Afro) phase. It’s like Wednesday… On the plus side, it’s not Monday, but on the downside, it’s not Friday either. Smack in the middle of nowhere! Continue reading “Help! I Wanna Be A Natty Too! (Part 2)”
Let’s just recap on a few things that have happened since my last blog post.
If I missed something, comment it below… We may talk about this later. Continue reading “The Story So Far”
It’s the weekend and I thought I’d be generous and fire it up with a delicious recipe for all the beautiful Natty girls and guys out there rocking their God-given hair.
My last recipe, “Sheazam!”, was made specifically for High Porosity types and I know all the Low Porosity girls were feeling just a little left out. So, here is a little something I have put together for all of you. I call it Cocolopo.
This is a nice, hydrating leave-in spray that is meant for those that love a nourishing touch that smells divine. I love Lavender and you will see it in a lot of my recipes. But, if you want to be just a little different, you are always welcome to switch up the recipe to add your own. I would suggest a little Bergamot with a dash of sweet orange for those that love a more citrus note. Let’s get to the recipe, shall we?

Today is a VERY special day! If the title of this blog post has not given it away, it is International Women’s Day and I thought I should definitely have my own little input on it, as inspiring and assisting women is what I do with a passion! Nothing is more rewarding than making someone feel beautiful and having their genuine thanks. Honestly, it’s what keeps Maxine and I going. But I thought I would take this moment to honour the women who have had not only a significant impact on the world, but in my personal life and are a testament to the fact that when God made women, he did so with magic.

This is going to be a long post because I thought that having a comprehensive article that covered EVERYTHING you need to know about returning to your natural roots would be handy. This is for those who have no idea where to get started and need a helping hand in joining the Fro Family. I see many posts in my own Facebook group as well as others. So if you have a friend who needs some explaining, and you know how lengthy that explanation can get, send them over here. I gotchu! I will break things down where possible and give you all the options I can to make sure you are on top of it all. Sound good? Sure does! Let’s go. Continue reading “Help! I Wanna Be A Natty Too! (Part 1)”
If you’re a part of our Facebook Group, (It’s All Natural!), you may have noticed a post from myself which promised not one, but TWO recipes that are guaranteed to give results and do not require any special equipment to prepare. This blog post will cover the first of the two so here we go!
This blog post has absolutely nothing to do with constipation or social anxiety at a friend’s house but everything to do with the one product that makes a Natty examine the ingredients like evidence at a murder trial. Shampoo (‘Poo for short)! Lovely stuff, and a staple in everyone’s household. But let’s get to the point here, do you really need it? Is it really worth the price you pay? Can you go Super Duper Ultra Natty and rebuke the demon of soapy suds? Well, the answer sounds like this… Yes and No. It depends entirely on you.

I thought I would make a series of little blogs about some of my favourite recipes that have been tried and proven to work time and time again. I know a lot of you have been taking screenshots of them (I see them all over the internet now) and I would just like to consolidate them all. It’s nice and neat having them all in one place so let’s do that!
Kiss that itch goodbye

This is a rant, so if I stray from time to time, you’ve been warned. Try to keep up!
